Terms & Conditions

Last updated: June 21, 2026

These Terms & Conditions are a legal agreement between you and Courseable LLC. Please read them carefully — by creating an account, purchasing, or taking a course, you agree to be bound by them.

1. Who we are & acceptance of these terms

Courseable (the “Service”) is operated by Courseable LLC (“Courseable,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) and made available through the website at courseable.com and related subdomains. These Terms & Conditions, together with our Privacy Policy, Refund & Guarantee Policy, and Disclaimer (collectively, the “Terms”), govern your access to and use of the Service.

By accessing the website, creating an account, purchasing a course or other product, or otherwise using the Service, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Eligibility & who may enroll

The Service is intended for adults 18 years of age or older. By using the Service you represent that you are at least 18 and able to form a binding contract.

Enrolling a minor for a court requirement? If a course is for someone under 18 (for example, a juvenile court referral), a parent or legal guardian must create the account, complete the purchase, and accept these Terms on the minor's behalf, and is responsible for supervising the minor's use of the Service. We do not knowingly allow individuals under 18 to register or transact on their own.

You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information when registering and enrolling — including the full legal name that should appear on any certificate. You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you submit. Certificates and proof-of-enrollment documents are generated from the details you provide, and we are not responsible for a court, agency, or other party rejecting a document because the information you entered was incorrect, incomplete, or did not match your legal or court records.

3. Nature of our courses

Courseable provides educational courses — including self-paced, weekly, and live (instructor-led) formats — on subjects such as anger management, decision-making, alcohol awareness, and firearm safety. Our courses are designed to be informative and to help you satisfy a personal goal or a court, probation, employment, school, or similar requirement.

You are responsible for confirming your requirement. Course acceptance rules vary by jurisdiction and by the specific terms of your court order, plea agreement, probation, diversion program, or other requirement. Before you enroll, it is your responsibility to confirm with your court, probation officer, attorney, or referring agency: (a) that an online course is accepted; (b) the correct subject and number of hours you need; and (c) whether an approved or licensed provider is required in your jurisdiction. See our Disclaimer for important limitations.

Our courses are not legal advice, are not a substitute for therapy, counseling, or medical or behavioral treatment, and (unless a specific course expressly states otherwise) are not Batterer's Intervention Programs (BIP), DUI/DWI assessment or treatment programs, or other specialized clinical programs.

4. Accounts & security

Some features require an account, which you may access by email sign-in link or other means we provide. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account and for all activity that occurs under it. Accounts, enrollments, and certificates are personal to the enrolled individual and may not be shared, sold, transferred, or assigned. Notify us promptly at support@courseable.com if you suspect unauthorized use of your account.

5. Enrollment, course access & license

When you purchase a course, we grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use that course and its materials for your own educational use and to satisfy your own requirement. Course formats and access may differ:

  • Self-paced courses are available immediately and can be completed at your own speed.
  • Weekly courses release content on a schedule (for example, one lesson per week from the date of purchase).
  • Live courses are delivered on scheduled dates by an instructor and may have attendance requirements.

You agree that you will personally and honestly complete all coursework, quizzes, and exams. You may not have another person complete any part of a course for you, share answers, use unauthorized aids, or otherwise misrepresent your participation or identity. Course content is protected and may not be copied, recorded, redistributed, resold, or used to create derivative works.

6. Certificates, completion & verification

Upon meeting a course's completion requirements (which may include finishing all lessons and passing a final exam where applicable), we issue a Certificate of Completion as a downloadable PDF bearing a unique certificate identifier. We may also provide proof-of-enrollment documentation on request.

To support the integrity of our certificates, we maintain a verification tool that allows a court, probation officer, attorney, employer, or other authorized party to confirm a certificate using its identifier. By enrolling, you authorize us to confirm your enrollment, progress, and completion status to a court, agency, or other party you designate or that presents a valid certificate identifier. We may withhold, suspend, or revoke a certificate, and may notify affected parties, if we determine in good faith that it was obtained through inaccurate information, fraud, impersonation, or a violation of these Terms.

7. Prices, payments & taxes

Prices are shown on the Service and are stated in U.S. dollars. We may offer optional add-ons and upgrades (for example, additional course hours, bundles, the Pass Guarantee retake add-on, ebooks, or other items), including one-click offers presented during or after checkout. You authorize us and our payment processor to charge your selected payment method for the items you purchase, including any add-ons you elect.

Payments are processed by our third-party payment processor (currently Stripe). We do not store your full payment card number. You are responsible for any applicable taxes. We may change prices, promotions, and product offerings at any time; changes do not affect orders already completed. Refunds and guarantees are governed by our Refund & Guarantee Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms.

8. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • provide false, misleading, or fraudulent information, or impersonate any person or entity;
  • have someone else take a course, quiz, or exam for you, or take one on another person's behalf;
  • share, resell, sublicense, or redistribute course access, content, or certificates;
  • copy, scrape, record, reverse-engineer, or create derivative works from the Service or its content;
  • use bots, automated scripts, or other means to access the Service or to circumvent time, progress, or security controls;
  • interfere with, disrupt, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service, its systems, or other users' accounts; or
  • use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these Terms.

9. Intellectual property

The Service and all of its content — including courses, text, video, graphics, quizzes, exams, logos, the “Courseable” name and marks, and the underlying software — are owned by Courseable LLC or its licensors and content experts and are protected by intellectual-property and other laws. Except for the limited license granted in Section 5, no rights are transferred to you. You may print or save your own certificate and any materials we expressly make available for download.

10. Third-party services & links

The Service relies on third-party providers (for example, for payments, hosting, customer support chat, and reviews) and may link to third-party websites or partners (such as participating attorneys or referral resources). We are not responsible for the content, products, services, or privacy practices of third parties, and your dealings with them are solely between you and the third party.

11. Disclaimers

The service and all courses, materials, and certificates are provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement, to the fullest extent permitted by law.

Except as expressly stated in our Refund & Guarantee Policy, we do not warrant that any course, certificate, or document will be accepted by a particular court, agency, employer, or other party, or that use of the Service will produce any specific legal, disciplinary, or other outcome. Please review our Disclaimer, which forms part of these Terms.

12. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Courseable LLC and its owners, officers, employees, contractors, content experts, and suppliers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data, goodwill, or other intangible losses, arising out of or relating to your use of (or inability to use) the service, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total aggregate liability for any claim arising out of or relating to the service or these terms will not exceed the amount you paid to us for the course or product giving rise to the claim in the twelve (12) months before the event giving rise to liability.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain warranties or damages, so some of the above may not apply to you. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

13. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Courseable LLC and its owners, officers, employees, contractors, and content experts from and against any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or related to your violation of these Terms, your misuse of the Service, your submission of inaccurate information, or your violation of any law or the rights of a third party.

14. Dispute resolution & binding arbitration

Please read this section carefully — it affects your legal rights. It requires that most disputes be resolved by binding individual arbitration and waives your right to a jury trial and to participate in a class action. You may opt out within 30 days as described below.

Informal resolution first. Most concerns can be resolved quickly. Before starting an arbitration, you agree to first contact us at support@courseable.com and give us at least 30 days to resolve the dispute informally.

Agreement to arbitrate. Except for the exceptions below, you and Courseable LLC agree that any dispute, claim, or controversy arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service will be resolved by binding, individual arbitration, rather than in court, administered by a recognized arbitration provider (such as the American Arbitration Association) under its applicable consumer rules. The arbitration will be governed by the Federal Arbitration Act. Judgment on the award may be entered in any court of competent jurisdiction.

Class-action waiver. You and Courseable LLC agree that each may bring claims against the other only in an individual capacity, and not as a plaintiff or class member in any purported class, collective, or representative proceeding. The arbitrator may not consolidate more than one person's claims or preside over any form of a class or representative proceeding.

Exceptions. Either party may (a) bring an individual claim in small-claims court if it qualifies, and (b) seek injunctive or equitable relief in court for actual or threatened infringement or misuse of intellectual property.

30-day opt-out. You may opt out of this arbitration agreement by emailing support@courseable.com with the subject line “Arbitration Opt-Out” within 30 days of first accepting these Terms, including your name and the email associated with your account. Opting out will not affect any other part of these Terms.

15. Governing law & venue

These Terms and any dispute not subject to arbitration are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. To the extent a dispute proceeds in court rather than arbitration (for example, a small-claims matter or a claim for injunctive relief), you agree to the exclusive jurisdiction and venue of the state and federal courts located in Harris County, Texas.

16. Changes to the Service or these Terms

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time. We may also update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

17. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service, and may withhold or revoke a certificate, if you violate these Terms or engage in fraudulent, abusive, or unlawful conduct. You may stop using the Service at any time. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including Sections 6, 9, and 11–15) will survive.

18. Electronic communications & consent

By using the Service, you consent to receive communications from us electronically — including transactional emails about your account, purchases, course progress, certificates, and support — and you agree that electronic agreements, notices, and records satisfy any legal requirement that such communications be in writing. You may receive marketing messages only as permitted by law, and you can opt out of marketing emails at any time using the unsubscribe link or by contacting us.

19. Miscellaneous

These Terms (with the policies they incorporate) are the entire agreement between you and Courseable LLC regarding the Service. If any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not assign these Terms; we may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets. We are not liable for delays or failures caused by events beyond our reasonable control.
