Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 21, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains what information Courseable LLC collects, how we use and share it, and the choices and rights you have. We collect only what we need to deliver your course and certificate, and we do not sell your personal information.
1. Scope
This Policy applies to personal information we collect through the Courseable website at courseable.com and related subdomains, our courses, and our customer support (together, the “Service”), operated by Courseable LLC (“Courseable,” “we,” “us”). It does not cover third-party websites or services we link to, which have their own policies.
2. Information we collect
Information you provide
- Account & enrollment details — your full legal name (used to issue your certificate), email address, and (if you provide it) phone number.
- Payment information — processed by our payment processor (Stripe). We receive confirmation of payment and limited details (such as the last four digits and card type); we do not collect or store your full card number.
- Requirement context — any details you choose to share with us or enter during enrollment (for example, to request a proof-of-enrollment letter or to ask about a court requirement).
- Communications — messages you send us by email, support chat, forms, or reviews.
Information collected automatically
- Course activity — your progress, lesson and quiz activity, exam results, completion status, and certificate records.
- Device & usage data — IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, referring pages, and similar log data, collected through cookies and similar technologies.
Information from third parties
- Payment and fraud-prevention confirmations from our payment processor.
- Advertising and analytics identifiers from the partners described in Section 4 (where you have not opted out).
3. How we use your information
- To create and manage your account and deliver the courses you purchase;
- To issue, verify, and (where authorized) confirm your certificates and proof-of-enrollment documents;
- To process payments, add-ons, and refunds, and to prevent fraud and abuse;
- To provide customer support and respond to your requests;
- To send transactional messages about your account, purchases, and courses;
- To send marketing communications where permitted (you can opt out at any time);
- To operate, secure, analyze, and improve the Service; and
- To comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms & Conditions.
4. Cookies, analytics & advertising
We and our service providers use cookies and similar technologies in these general categories:
- Essential — needed to sign in, keep your session, process checkout, and secure the Service.
- Analytics — to understand how the Service is used so we can improve it (for example, Google Analytics).
- Advertising — to measure and improve our marketing and, with applicable consent, to show relevant ads on other platforms (for example, Google and Meta advertising tools).
- Support — to power features such as our help chat (for example, Intercom) and customer reviews (for example, Reviews.io).
You can control cookies through your browser settings, and we honor recognized opt-out signals such as Global Privacy Control (GPC) where required. Disabling some cookies may affect how the Service works.
5. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only as described here:
- Service providers (processors) who perform functions on our behalf under contract — for example, website hosting and error monitoring (such as Vercel and Sentry), database and authentication (such as Supabase), payment processing (Stripe), email delivery, customer support chat (Intercom), reviews (Reviews.io), and analytics and advertising partners (Section 4).
- At your direction — when you ask us to provide or confirm your enrollment, completion, or certificate to a court, probation officer, attorney, employer, or other party, or when such a party verifies a certificate using its identifier.
- Legal & safety — when we believe disclosure is required by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Courseable, our users, or others, or to prevent fraud.
- Business transfers — in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, subject to this Policy.
6. Data retention
We keep personal information for as long as needed to provide the Service and for legitimate business and legal purposes. Because our certificates are intended to be verifiable over time by courts and other authorized parties, we retain certificate and completion records (such as name, course, hours, completion date, and certificate identifier) on a long-term basis so that a certificate can be validated when presented. We retain other information for the period necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this Policy unless a longer period is required by law.
7. Security
We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect your information, including encryption in transit and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. Protect your account by keeping your sign-in credentials confidential.
8. Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal information, and to opt out of certain uses. To exercise a right, email support@courseable.com. We will verify your request and respond as required by law, and we will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.
California (CCPA/CPRA)
California residents have the right to know what personal information we collect, use, and disclose; to request deletion or correction; and to opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not sell personal information for money. To the extent our use of advertising cookies is considered “sharing” under California law, you can opt out using your browser's Global Privacy Control signal or by contacting us.
Other U.S. states
Residents of other states with comprehensive privacy laws (such as Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, and others) have similar rights to access, correct, delete, and opt out of targeted advertising, and may appeal a decision by contacting us.
Outside the United States
The Service is operated from the United States and intended for U.S. users. If you access it from elsewhere, you understand your information will be processed in the United States.
9. Children's privacy
The Service is intended for adults 18 and older, and we do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13. Where a course is for a minor, a parent or legal guardian must create and manage the account on the minor's behalf (see our Terms & Conditions). If you believe a child has provided us information directly, contact us and we will delete it as required by law.
10. Third-party links
The Service may link to third-party sites and resources. We are not responsible for their content or privacy practices, and we encourage you to review their policies.
11. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice.
