Almost certainly not — and we'd rather tell you before you pay. North Carolina law treats domestic violence cases differently: under G.S. 15A-1343(b)(12), when a court finds a defendant responsible for an act of domestic violence, completion of a state-approved abuser treatment program — also called a Domestic Violence Intervention Program (DVIP) — is a mandatory condition of probation where one is reasonably available. Approved DVIP programs run 39 hours of group treatment over 26 to 30 weeks, in person, led by trained facilitators. North Carolina's own guidance is explicit that general anger management classes do not satisfy this requirement. This class is not that program, and we don't want to sell it to you as one.
If your court order, your probation officer, or your paperwork names domestic violence, abuser treatment, or DVIP, an online anger management class will not meet that condition — talk to your probation officer, your attorney, or the NC Department of Adult Correction before you enroll anywhere. If your order simply says "anger management," this class is built for exactly that. Want a second pair of eyes on the wording first? contact our support team.
